History Remon
It all started in 1979 when Andries Reitsema (in the middle of the photo) founded Reitsema Montage. It was soon decided that this should be abbreviated. That’s how REMON was born. Now, we are a serious player in the water world and we have more than 150 employees.
Water in our veins
The Beginning
Remon is a real family business that has specialized in healthy, safe and clear drinking water since 1979. It all started with Andries Reitsema. As a stable builder for livestock farming, he visited farmers on a daily basis and saw how the yield of an agricultural company depends on many different factors. The cattle must, for example, be provided with the best food, the best stable and…. the best drinking water. He discovered that farmers greatly underestimate the quality of drinking water as a link in their operating income. He therefore decided to look into the optimization of drinking water and its consequences for the welfare of the animals. With this in mind, Andries developed and installed his first deferrization plant on a farm in 1979. Purification of source water which provides healthy, safe and economical drinking water that makes the cattle function better. This gave rise to his passion for water!

What originally was intended primarily for the agricultural sector, soon was extended to other sectors, like horticulturists, industrial plants, geothermal heat, swimming pools, carwash, laboratories, building management, off-grid fire hydrants, sports clubs and water softeners. Its drive and success quickly made the company outgrew its premises. The office building next to the residence of Andries in Opende, Groningen was exchanged for a head office in Marum and various branches spread across the country. In more than 40 years, the family business has now been developed into a great company with love for the profession and more than 150 employees, both active in the Netherlands and abroad!

Across the Border
REMON has also been providing clean source water outside the Dutch borders for more than 15 years. Through local partners and remote maintenance, Remon ensures a high service level.
